Can you provide more info on cast-in-place torqued anchors?

Do you have more info on what is required for a cast in place anchor to be considered torqued? CSA Annex D Clause 9 requires additional edge distance and spacing requirements for a torqued cast-in-place anchor, and I see the option in Profis, but I'm not finding a clear definition on what it requires to be considered torqued? Am I correct in understanding a nut-rotation after snug-tight for minimum tension to be considered torqued? Snug tight not? What would a typical installation be?

Hi JD,
Are you referring to Hilti’s Cast-in place anchors, such as the KCM and KCC cast-in specialty inserts? If so, you can refer to the Instructions for Use for guidance on torque. As an example please see the KCC-WF 3/8” IFU part 5. These IFUs may be found on each product's page on Hilti's website.

No, I am asking if you have further information on when the 'torqued anchor' option should be selected in Profis. Specifically for cast-in-place anchors, I understand the option to increase the minimum edge distance and spacing requirements per CSA Clause D.9.2 and D.9.3 but I am not finding any definition on what is considered a torqued cast-in-place anchor.

Hi JD,
For the generic cast-in anchors that can be found in Profis Engineering, it would be best to refer to the manufacturer of these cast-in anchors. These anchors are included in the software for comparison purposes only.
