Use of HIT HY270 into Concrete

I am looking into reviewing a situation where threaded rod anchors were installed into concrete using the HIT HY270 in lieu of the HY200. I understand that the HY270 is intended for masonry as the base material. Can you direct me to information confirming if this is an acceptable application or not, and if so, where I can find or calculate the tensile resistance values for these installed anchors.

Hello,

Thank you for your question.

As you mentioned, the HIT-HY 270 is tested for the following base materials: Masonry (grout-filled CMU), Masonry (hollow), Masonry (multi wythe brick/unreinforced masonry), Masonry (solid), Hollowcore concrete, not for solid concrete. Please refer to ICC-ES ESR-4143 & ESR-4144 evaluation report for more details.
Also, please review the product technical guide starting from Page 175 and the Supplement for attachment to Hollowcore Concrete Panels starting from page 10.

Hilti does not have guidance for capacity calculations of the HIT-HY 270 in Concrete, you might want to proceed with on-site testing in your case.

I hope this helps.
