We would like to specify HILTI HIT-HY 200, post concrete work for anchor. They will drill and use HILTI HIT-HY 200. We are using the A307 anchors 16 mm or 19 mm diameter with two heavy hex nuts and washer. We have all other data, like concrete grade etc.
My question, how do I specify depth of embedment for required pull out force? Also, size of hole could be a variable, i.e pull out value will depend on the drilled hole size?
Quick response is appreciated.
Thank you,
Ramesh Svaliya, P.Eng
Hello Ramesh,
Thank you for your question.
Please review the below technical documents for your engineering judgement:
- HIT-HY 200 V3:
- Technical Data for this fast cure adhesive anchor starting from Page 71
- ICC-ES ESR 4868 Evaluation report for anchoring into concrete.
- Operating Instructions
Also, to help with your calculations, Hilti offers a very helpful tool: PROFIS Engineering (Anchoring-To-Concrete Module), where you can build your own design using all Hilti anchor portfolio and simulate its load resistance following multiple parameters. The standard version is free to use but you can upgrade to the Premium version for additional features.
I have included How To videos as well if you want to explore further.
