Hilti HIT-1 - Edge and spacing reduction factors missing from technical data sheet

Hello, I've got a situation where a contractor has installed 4 x 1/2" dia. steel threaded rod anchors, embedded them 4 1/2" and epoxied them with Hilti HIT-1. The anchors are installed in a square pattern spaced 6" apart from one another. The anchors as installed do not comply with the min. anchor spacing noted on the attached technical document for Hilti HIT-1. Does Hilti have edge and spacing reduction factors for this type of adhesive that they could share with me?

Hi Josh,

Thank you for your question,

Hilti publishes the safety factors applied to the average ultimate test loads, which are noted in the footnotes of the table corresponding to your base material.

However, Hilti does not provide safety factors for anchors installed outside of our minimum installation parameters. In these cases, the determination of an appropriate safety factor should be made by the engineer of record.

When an anchor is installed outside of specified parameters, our only recommendation is to conduct a pull test to confirm its performance and ensure compliance with project requirements.

If you have any additional questions or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at CAtechnicalservices@hilti.com.
