Can you run Plastic pipe in a rated shaft? My understanding was that the plumbing code said no. See attached photo. They have not built this shaft correctly and have reached out for some support

Building Code of Alberta will NOT permit combustible piping in a Vertical Shaft.

Here is the excerpt from the New Alberta Building Code. However, this appears to be unchanged from the previous 2019 Alberta Building Code.

3) Combustible drain, waste and vent piping is permitted on one side of a vertical
fire separation, provided it is not located in a vertical shaft.
