In regards to the third party inspector for reviewing firestopping, could you provide the code reference?

From the quality control firestopping presentation held this morning, there was a slide stating 3rd party special inspections are required as of the 2012 IBC. Could you please provide the direct code reference for this item? Is there a reference in the Alberta Building Code like this?
