Possibility of installation HILTI KWIK TZ2 bolts in tight spaces

Hi Hilti Technical Team,

I would like to inquire about the feasibility of using the HILTI KWIK Bolt TZ2 expansion anchor in confined spaces. In one of our current projects, the standard drawing specifies the use of the HILTI KWIK system for anchoring a steel plate to a concrete wall (see attached Detail.jpg). However, the beam is considered to support pipes running in a floor trench, therefore, the plate will be connected to the trench wall (see attached Trench.jpg).
I am wondering if the installation contractor will be able to drill the required holes for the post-installed anchors. The width of the trench is approximately 1ft-10in. Is this sufficient space for drilling the holes and installing the KWIK bolts?

Thank you for your assistance.

Regards, Nurken Kalmukhanov

Hi Nurken,
If the anchor is 5/8" or smaller diameter, Hilti offers a right angular chuck for TE 5-22, TE 6-22 and TE 6-CL tools. As an example, the angular chuck TE-AC 2 fitted with a 6" long drill bit provides a length of about 10", please note that longer bits can also be used as space allows. The available space should be sufficient to allow for a calibrated torque wrench for tightening.
