I am installing 15m rebar into 7/8 x 18” deep holes in wet rock. Which is the best adhesive and applicator for the job?
Hi Guy,
Thank you for your question.
Hilti does not have test data available for installing anchors into natural stone/rock. However, you can reference the attached University of Catania (Italy) 2014 study on the behavior of post-installed adhesive anchors in natural stone.
We have seen HIT-RE 500 V3 considered for applications into natural stone in the past and we share the study to help in the process of making an engineering judgement on the application.
To make things convenient for you, I have also linked our product technical data and the Rebar Guide below for your review:
HIT-RE 500 V3:
- Technical Data for this slow cure epoxy adhesive anchor starting on Page 106, Canadian data starts at Page 139.
- ICC-ES ESR 3814 and ICC-ES ELC 3814 for anchoring into concrete
