Using HIT-RE 500 with Hit-SC screen
I am dealing with a pretty old heritage grade double wythe wall and I am looking to anchor a 15M bar. I was wondering, is it possible to use the HIT-RE 500 with the Hit-Sc screen? I know the HIT-SC is used with the HIT-HY 270, but I just want to check if the RE-500 can be used for the HIT-SC as well. Note, I will be carrying a load test for such a system provided that there is not technical data for such a thing.

Hi Yousef,
HIT-RE 500 V3 is not tested and is not suitable for masonry applications. Please see Hilti’s Anchor Fastening Technical Guide starting page 188 for technical information on HIT-HY 270 adhesive in multi-wythe brick applications. You can also review the approval document ICC-ES ESR 4144 for more information.
