What is the required clearance or drill chuck diameter to install a 25 mm dowel in concrete?

I am looking to install 25 mm dowel but there is a column near the installation location and I want to make sure the clearance can be accommodated

Hi Akram

Which adhesive are you using for your application? If you’re looking for installation parameters information for post-installed rebar design in concrete as per CSA A23.3 Annex D for HIT-RE 500 V3 you can refer to the Anchor fastening technical guide Ed. 22 starting page168 as well as the IFU. For rebar development theory you can refer to Post installed Reinforcing Bar Guide for more information on the installation requirements in this case.

Thanks for the reply. I am not certain about the adhesive yet. I am concerned that drill body size will be huge and the column will be in the way which will make the installation process difficult.

Hi Akram
The diameter of the drilled hole as well as installation parameters including edge distance will be defined as per design calculations and product to be used. Have you tried Profis Engineering design software? It is a helpful tool and available for customers to use. The new C2C module in Profis Engineering might help with your design.
