What is the spacing of a X-HSN connector?

Im using a 36/7 pattern for my roof deck, this obviously happens over supports (joists) at every panel width of 36in. When we specifically look at the roof edge, where we have a shear connector (HSS welded to a W-beam), what is the pattern like along the continuous flute? The steel manufacturer is asking if its possible to reduce the length of the shear connectors. Is it possible to group the X-HSN anchors closely together in order to reduce the length of the shear connector?
