Sur notre projet, nous avons une jonction particulière entre un shaft mécanique ayant une résistance au feu de 1 heure et un contreventement situé en partie à l’intérieur du shaft et en partie à l’extérieur de celui-ci.
Pour la portion située à l’intérieur du shaft, les plans et devis demandaient l’application d’un produit ignifugeant. Nous avons donc appliqué du Monokote MK-6.
Cependant, pour la portion située à l’extérieur du shaft, le contreventement n’a pas été isolé, à la demande des professionnels. Nous aimerions donc confirmer si cette portion extérieure doit également être ignifugée ou non.
Également, nous aimerions savoir comment le passage du contreventement à travers le bloc de béton doit être scellé, ainsi que le produit recommandé pour assurer l’étanchéité et la conformité coupe-feu de cette ouverture.

Our team does not determine if fireproofing or firestopping is required. You will need to confirm whether this member needs to be fireproofed and firestopped through the wall before we can provide a detail. If firestopping is required, we can address your application through an Engineering Judgment, which will be a custom detail showing your exact application with the firestop components required to maintain the stated ratings.
