S-SLC02 use in 16GA Deck

Hello,
We are using the Hilti Profis online tool to design the diaphragm of our building. We have 16ga deck on the roof and the tool won't allow us to use the screw S-SLC 02. Before, with the old tool, it was ok but not anymore with the new online tool. It suggests #12 screw instead. Is this a bug coming from the new tool or do we really need to avoid S-SLC 02 when we have 16 ga deck?
Thanks in advance for the information.

Vérifié par Hilti

Hi Antoine,
Please see table 3 attached from section 3.5.1.3.1 on page 159 of the Hilti's Direct Fastening Technical Guide, Edition 24. The S-SLC 02 MHWH is recommended to be used on deck gauges 18 to 22. Please feel free to contact us if you have any other questions on CAtechnicalservices@hilti.com.

Hi Antoine,
The recommendation to use SLC 02 as a side lap fastener for 16 Ga metal deck is largely based on installation and helping to ensure customers are provided with a good installation experience. It is not that the SLC02 cannot be installed into 16 Ga decks, but instead that the customers might run into more challenges in what is typically a highly repetitive application. It would be left to your judgement whether to use SLC02 in 16 Ga metal decks or not. If they are properly and reliably installed, the threads would engage, and a capacity will be obtained. Also, for reference kindly note that 16 gage decks are included for the S-SLC 02 in the approval document ICC ESR-2776 report.

@GHINA KABBARA

Thanks for the reply. In section 3.5.6.4 - Ordering Information, there is a table that specify S-SLC 02 for 16Ga, in contradiction with the table you shared. And also in the table 3.5.6.3, we see some capacities for S-SLC 02 in 16ga deck. Can you help on this?
Thanks
